Who are ESPN?

Based in Bristol (CT), on the East coast of the USA, ESPN, Inc. is the world’s leading multinational, multimedia sports entertainment company featuring a portfolio of over 50 multimedia sports assets. ESPN is 80 percent owned by ABC, Inc., which is an indirect subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The Hearst Corporation holds a 20 percent interest in ESPN.

What is ESPN America?

ESPN America is the only TV channel in Europe and the Middle East exclusively dedicated to broadcasting North American sports. Not only does ESPN America show up to 15 live or as-live events every week, we show top North American sports 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

ESPN America broadcasts the biggest sports events from right across North America. We broadcast in English, and we bring American sports events to you direct from the source, exactly as they are broadcast by US networks. With so many live or as live events shown each week, watching ESPN America is like watching American sports in North America, but better!

What can I watch on ESPN America?

ESPN AMERICA features the best sporting action from North America, broadcasting comprehensive season-long coverage of the NHL, MLB, and NCAA College Sports. We showcase all the excitement, the greatest athletes and heroic feats, the best matchups, rivalries and championships – All Day, Every Day.

  • 24-hour coverage featuring the best leagues, the biggest events and top players
  • Over 3,500 hours of original programming per year, featuring 800+ live and as-live games
  • Original commentary from the U.S. networks. All games are broadcast as seen on American and Canadian television

How can I get ESPN America for a commercial premise?

Do you have video on demand?

Currently ESPN does not offer video on demand.

However you can always watch great sporting action on your computer and your phone:

  • New: ESPN Goals offers on demand video coverage of every Barclays Premier League match on your mobile (check terms and conditions with your mobile operator)
  • ESPNplayer.com offers great sporting content, including live and on demand NHL, NCAA Basketball and NCAA Football
  • ESPN and ESPN Classic offer a selection of live and on demand content on Sky Go at no extra cost if you are a Sky subscriber (check terms and conditions with Sky directly)

What can I watch in HD?

ESPN currently offers a number of programmes broadcasted in HD including:

ESPN America is currently available in High Definition (HD), with a majority of our programming produced  in a 16:9 aspect ratio in full HD. However, it is up to each individual platform provider to provide viewers with HD service. We suggest you contact your platform provider and petition them to provide you with ESPN America in HD so that you can enjoy all your favourite sports programming the way you want to see it.

Is SportsCenter available in Europe?

ESPN America now broadcasts it’s own edition of ESPN’s flagship show SportsCenter to their viewers across Europe and the Middle East.

The sports news show produced specially for ESPN America runs as a 30-minute program broadcast five days-a-week from 6-8am UK, 7-9am CET, and then again at 10:30-11pm UK/ CET as an updated version.

SportsCenter rounds up the latest results and highlights from major U.S. sporting events including MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL, plus NCAA basketball and football action, together with commentary, previews, and feature stories.

Who are the hosts and commentators on ESPN America?

In addition to ESPN America’s very own edition of ESPN’s flagship show SportsCenter hosted by Michael Kim, ESPN America broadcasts the very best of ESPN’s studio shows covering North American sports.

Can you explain the late scheduling changes?

ESPN America does its very best to provide sports fans with a first-rate television service. Unfortunately, due to the nature of live sport events ESPN America has to prioritize content such as live events and show what would appeal to the majority of viewers, which sometimes interrupts published schedules.
