ESPN America broadcasts its own edition of ESPN’s flagship show SPORTSCENTER to viewers across Europe and the Middle East.

The sports news show produced specially for ESPN America runs as a 30-minute program broadcast five days-a-week from 6.00-8.00 a.m. GMT (07.00-09.00 CET), with an updated show at 10:30 p.m. GMT/CET. SportsCenter rounds up the latest results and highlights from major North American sporting events including MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL, plus NCAA action, together with commentary, previews, and feature stories.
The show is filmed at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, USA.

Hosting SportsCenter is ESPN’s own MICHAEL KIM, who anchored on ESPNEWS, ESPN’s 24-hour sports news program, for nearly fifteen years. He has also contributed as an anchor to ESPN’s US edition of SportsCenter and other ESPN news and information programming including First Take, NHL Tonight and more.

Michael has earned a local Emmy for sports reporting from the Capital Region chapter in Washington, D.C. for a series called Local Heroes, which was also recognized as the “Best Sports Series” by the Society of Professional Journalists, and “Best Sports Feature” from the National Association of Black Journalists.

Viewers are in safe hands, as Michael’s wealth of experience makes him extremely well-versed in the language of sports.

ESPN’s original SportsCenter has gained iconic status in American sports heritage and has been aired more times than any other programme in American television, with more than 35,000 unique episodes. It has expanded globally to include 13 custom editions around the world, in eight languages – reaching from Los Angeles to Hong Kong, and Bristol, Connecticut to Brazil. ESPN’s original telecast on September 7, 1979 and since that time it has grown into a worldwide multimedia brand with content on television, radio, online, cell phones and more. SportsCenter has been the foundation of the network’s schedule for 28-plus years, making it ESPN’s most significant programming commitment.

Despite its longevity and success, SportsCenter continues to evolve and remains committed to growth. Its main ingredients are unchanged: in-depth reporting, analysis, news and highlights. With multiple live presentations on numerous media platforms every day around the world, it has become a global destination for sports news and information. The addition of of a dedicated SportsCenter further demonstrates ESPN’s commitment to ESPN America, to growing North American sport around the world, and to our dedication to the European and Middle Eastern markets.
